It’s officially the time of year we reflect on the past 12 months of our lives. Whether it’s Spotify shaming us for our questionable music taste or friends and family sharing their highlights of 2025, we can’t avoid it. In this spirit I thought I’d share the important milestones that formed my year of Mayhem. In case you missed them…these are my 2024 Lessons and my 2023 Wrapped posts too.
• The ENM Journey •
Since 2020 I’ve been working out where I sit on the monogamous/ polyamorous spectrum (which was preceded by my queer journey). This year I found my place…identifying as solo poly. I have no desire to marry or live with anyone again, nor have a primary partner. I have and enjoy deep and fulfilling romantic connections, but ultimately the relationship I have with myself is my priority.
• The Squirting •
Yes, at the age of 43, I squirted for the first time (and many times since). A very patient and dedicated fwb chipped away at the task for a good year to err, release the floodgates. No one else (including me) has produced the same results YET…2026 goals?
• The Balcony •
If you’ve been here a while you’ll know I’ve wanted to ‘christen’ my balcony for five long years. This was the year it FINALLY happened. My exhibitionist side was absolutely thrilled to enjoy a romp on the balcony during summer…and very grateful not to have fallen to my death in the process.
• The Gym •
Mayhem adjacent, you hear a lot about my muscle mummy progress and this year was epic on that front. In May I hit a deadlift personal best of 140kg and in November I broke that by hitting 145kg. We now know I don’t cry over men, but I do cry over deadlift PBs.
• The Older Man •
Before I became unemployed (again), I went on a work jolly to Greece in summer and was reunited with the only older man I’ve ever been with. Our global, long term friends with benefits arrangement started when I was 25. Almost 20 years later we still can’t keep our hands off each other and our time in Greece was filled with constant flirting, skinny dipping and lots of stealthy public fun. Best. Reunion. Ever.
• The Four •
I had sex in four countries this year…the UK (it would be depressing if I hadn’t, considering that’s where I reside), Australia, Greece and Sweden. Coincidently, I’ve also had four partners this year…AND their ages range across four decades: 26, 35, 44 and 56. I’m nothing if not thorough.
• The Future •
